Kelly & Sheyi | Reid Rooms

Next up on the blog, we have lovely Kelly and Sheyi. This lovely pair were married at the Reid Rooms earlier this Summer, which is a beautiful and exclusive rural wedding venue, in the heart of the Essex countryside. It has a number of stunning rooms and outdoor areas, and I’m lucky enough to be a recommended supplier here. It is still always such an honour when a couple chooses me to capture their big day here.

Now, every bride is beautiful, but Kelly is definitely someone who was born to wear a wedding dress. When I sat down to select photos for this blog, I don’t think I came across a single shot where she didn’t look the epitome of bridal gorgeousness. Also, I don’t mind admitting I am super jealous of those gorgeous, flowing, dark locks. Someone tag Loreal! Sheyi also looked amazing in his black tuxedo which contrasted against the beige suits and green ties of his groomsmen. I love seeing new combinations at weddings and I thought this one worked so well.

Other things I loved? Gorgeous wild flower-inspired floral arrangements, the colour palette which mixed crisp whites with emerald green (such a winning combo), personalised marmalade favours, their ceremony being officiated by family, and some epic speeches, to name a few. However, top of my list would be the way these guys really managed to make their wedding a celebration of Kelly’s British, and Sheyi’s Nigerian heritage. They included Nigerian food on their menus and for the evening reception, the bridal party changed into traditional outfits, including head-dresses and danced back into the venue! SUCH a fun moment! Having the opportunity to capture the fusion of their cultures on their wedding day was such a privilege for me, and to watch the way their families embraced merging, really was something special.

Kelly and Sheyi, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your day. Thanks for choosing me. Lots of love and happiness to you both.
