Rosie & Matt’s Joyful Port Lympne Wedding

Rosie & Matt’s wedding at Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve was everything you could hope for from a summer celebration — emotional, elegant, and full of fun. From prep in the grand Mansion House to golden-hour portraits by the wisteria, their day was a beautiful mix of tradition, personality and a few wild surprises (literally). If you’re looking for inspiration for a unique, stylish wedding at one of Kent’s most iconic venues, this is one to bookmark.

Bridal prep in the Port Lympne Mansion House

Rosie spent the morning getting ready in the heart of the Mansion House, surrounded by her closest friends and family. With its elegant staircases, vintage furniture, and striking artwork, it’s a beautiful mix of old-world charm and quirky character — and it makes for the most incredible photos.

Outdoor wedding ceremony in the walled garden

Their ceremony took place beneath the pergola in the walled garden, surrounded by flowers and the sounds of the safari park just beyond. You could hear monkeys and birds as they exchanged vows — such a special and unexpected soundtrack to their “I do’s”.

Relaxed drinks reception with live music

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed drinks in the sunshine accompanied by the brilliant Chiqa String Quartet. The vibe was laid-back and joyful, perfect for mingling, hugging, and soaking in the moment.

Couple portraits in the Moroccan Courtyard & Wisteria walkway

We took Rosie & Matt for a wander into the gorgeous Moroccan Courtyard — peaceful, romantic, and tucked away for a few quiet minutes alone.

Then we headed to the front of the house where the wisteria was in full bloom, draped over the stone archways with views out across the reserve — it honestly looked like something from a film set.

Thank you so much for these, we absolutely love them and can’t stop looking at them! Can’t wait to see the rest 💖 we had the best day ever. you were both amazing! Thank you! xxx

Celebrations in the Orangery with a surprise safari twist

The Glass Orangery hosted the wedding breakfast, with music from the Blue Lion Band setting the tone for a fun, relaxed celebration.

After the speeches, Rosie & Matt surprised everyone with a private safari tour — one of the most unique perks of getting married at Port Lympne. Guests spotted giraffes, rhino & lions before returning for the evening party, which kicked off in full swing back in the Orangery.

The full gang reunited!

A few final words…

This wedding was extra special for me, not just because Rosie & Matt were such a joy to be around, but because I’d photographed Rosie’s sister Abby’s wedding a few years earlier. Reuniting with their family (and some familiar faces in the photo and video team) made it feel like coming full circle. I’m so grateful to have been part of it all.

Thinking of getting married at Port Lympne?
It’s one of my absolute favourite venues in Kent — perfect for couples who want a blend of elegance, fun, and the unexpected. If you’re planning a wedding here and looking for relaxed, natural photography that captures how it felt, I’d love to hear from you.
