Wind, Confetti & Cocktails – Gillian & John’s Blake Hall Wedding
Gillian & John’s wedding at Blake Hall will always stand out in my memory, not least because it took place during Storm Amy! While the wind might have been wild, the celebrations were even wilder (and far more fun).
The ceremony took place in the Hay Barn, beautifully styled with warm autumnal colours that suited Blake Hall perfectly. Despite the weather, we still braved it for confetti, and it was so worth it. There was a definite “trust me” moment as everyone looked at me like I’d lost it for suggesting we go outside in gale-force winds, but that’s exactly how we got one of my favourite confetti shots ever. Sometimes, you just have to trust your photographer 😉
One of the most unique parts of the day was when John and some of his guests brought their cars up to Blake Hall for photos. Seeing those classic cars with the Blake Hall house in the background was such a rare treat, it’s not often possible, so being able to capture that moment was a real honour.
After the meal and speeches, the evening kicked off with a cocktail hour featuring their “his & hers” drinks, Old Fashioned for him and Hugo Spritz for her, before an electric party in the Hay Barn. The DJ, sax and bongos kept the dance floor full all night long.
Even with the storm raging outside, this day was pure joy inside, proof that a little wind can’t stop the best celebrations.
MY HIGHLIGHTS
Oh my god, we love the photos!!! Thank you so much Sophie, you helped make the day so easy, we had the BEST time!!!
