Lauren & Tom | Apton Hall
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a wedding photographer is when I have the privilege of photographing the weddings of friends of previous clients. It’s a heartwarming affirmation that my work left a lasting impression, enough for them to recommend me to their loved ones. Recently, I had the delightful opportunity to capture Lauren and Tom’s wedding, and it was made even more special by the presence of some familiar faces – suppliers I had worked with before, and friends whose weddings I had previously photographed! Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren’s maid of honour’s wedding, and it was a wonderful reunion to see her & her husband again. Over time, I’ve had the honour of shooting her sister’s wedding as well, so being there felt like reuniting with old friends.
The wedding had a beautiful theme that was one of my favourites of the year – furry, four-legged friends! Throughout the event, the couple incorporated touches of their beloved pets, which added an extra touch of love and happiness to the celebrations. The wedding’s white and blue colour palette was both elegant and timeless, and it’s no surprise that this combination has been gaining popularity throughout the year. Adding to the charm were the incredible doggy illustrations skillfully done by their very talented friend, @sophiasafcalligraphy. These illustrations featured the doggies of the guests in attendance, and it was a well-kept surprise for them. Witnessing their emotional reactions to seeing their furry companions depicted so beautifully and being part of their special day was truly heartwarming.
The weather on the day was nothing short of perfect, with a scorching sun blessing us with an amazing golden hour. Apton Hall’s picturesque surroundings, surrounded by golden fields, provided the ideal backdrop for capturing some magical moments. Watching Lauren and Tom joyfully laughing and celebrating in the wheat fields was an absolute blast. As the sun set, the celebrations continued with a house music-inspired dancefloor, where the couple and their guests danced the night away.
