Sing it with me now, “It’s like raaaa-iinnnnnnnn on your weddding day!” Yes, mother nature gave us a rather soggy weather day last week (as is the norm now for 2024 it seems!) but did it kill the vibe on Alex & Luke’s wedding day at Blake Hall in Essex? No it did not.

Blake Hall is one of my favourite Essex Wedding venues for so many reasons (those sausage canapes being number 1, priorities :D!) but one of the biggest ones is that no matter the weather, it works. With enough space, gorgeous gardens & 2 barns it really is the venue that you can make the most of no matter the weather.

Alex & Luke incorporated some lovely italian touches into their day as a nod to their time living there, from coffee favours, signature cocktails during the reception & themed table names. Their day was so full of lovely touches throughout, a real family affair with new little additions present, a cake made by Luke’s mum & flowers by Alex’s mum.

Rain might have forced their drinks reception inside but this didn’t stop the festivities as the guests were serenaded by the incredible Joe Palmer as they enjoyed the drinks & canapes. After dinner there was a break in the rain so we went off to the gardens for some photos & were thrilled that the wisteria is out in full bloom. One of my absolute favourite flowers at Blake Hall it really is incredible. We made the most of the lovely dry weather before they kicked the dancefloor off in style!
