Meg & Tom | Compasses at Pattiswick

Oh. My. Goodness.

Not even sure where to begin with this one but what I will say is that sometimes, when you meet a couple, you get an immediate positive vibe about their big day! And, I am not going to lie, my poor, long-suffering friends have been dealing with my anticipation over this one for WEEKS! I wasn’t wrong though, and I am over the moon to share some of the moments from Meg and Tom’s big day.

These guys really epitomised the concept of having your wedding, your way. They took a step back from trends and tradition and just did what felt right for them, which really, is what it should all be about.

They both got ready at their home in Thaxted, a gorgeous medieval town in rural Essex that I call home too, and when she stepped out in the most ethereal caped dress (the first one she had tried on!) my photographer’s heart did a little flip. An absolute “wow” moment! Their families surprised them with a vintage Morgan car, and so after a few local pics, including some on the steps of the medieval Guildhall, they hopped in together and drove themselves to the ceremony at The Compasses.

This venue fitted incredibly well with the laid-back vibe of their day. The Compasses at Pattiswick, is an amazing wedding venue that focuses on providing a really personalised service specific to each couple. They had decided to have all their group photos done on arrival so that they could kick back and enjoy the rest of their day, which I have to say, was a great twist on tradition and a real time saver.

After walking down the aisle together, and a beautiful ceremony with readings from both their brothers, these guys wasted no time in enjoying the rest of their day. There were 3 amazing cakes all made by their friends and family, an EPIC confetti shot, trestle table seating in keeping with their chilled family vibe, a dance floor packed from the moment it opened, and (given it was the 5th of November, after all) an abundance of sparklers.

This was honestly, the most beautiful wedding from start to finish and I adored every moment of it. Plus, I managed to capture some of my absolute favourite photos to date! In fact, If I didn’t love my job so much, I’m pretty sure I could bow out now, knowing I’d topped my game!

THANK YOU so much for picking me to be the one who got to photograph your big day. I hope you love your pictures as much as I loved taking them. You have made all this photographer’s dreams come true, and I couldn’t have hoped to meet two lovelier people.

Wishing you both so much love on your new adventure as Mr and Mrs!
