What a Year 2024 Has Been!

Let me take you on a little trip down memory lane as I look back on 2024. Bear with me—I’ll try to keep it light and not too much like a royal address!

JANUARY is always a quiet one for weddings, but that’s the way I like it. I met with almost 20 brilliant couples to chat about their upcoming big days. It’s also my time to get all the boring admin done—accounts, planning, you name it. Not the most exciting start to the year, but it’s all part of the process!

FEBRUARY
Wedding season kicked off at Crondon Park, and I squeezed in three corporate jobs too.

The highlight of the month, though, was working with Playskill. They’re an amazing charity that helps preschool kids with speech, physical, and occupational therapy. It was extra special because I’ve seen firsthand how much they’ve helped some close friends. I can’t wait to work with them again in 2025.

March
Back to Baddow Park in March—it’s one of those venues that’s gorgeous no matter the season. I also met two new little bundles of joy from past couples. Honestly, seeing my couples turn into families is the absolute best part of this job.

April
The Easter holidays meant some family time with my kids before wedding season really got going. April saw three weddings, including one at Woodhall Manor. It had everything—an epic champagne spray (probably the best of the year) and even a doggo. What more could you want?

May
May was full-on with five weddings at some fab venues like Blake Hall, Reid Rooms, Great Lodge, and Red Brick Barn. These weddings set the tone for a busy but brilliant year ahead.

June
June was non-stop! Eight weddings across Essex, two newborn sessions, and three pre-wedding shoots with my 2025 couples. The summer florals this month were just stunning—definitely a highlight for me.

July
July slowed down a bit with four weddings, but I was knee-deep in editing from the madness of June. I also visited the confetti fields for family shoots. It was my first time there, and I’m officially obsessed. Definitely adding it to the list for next year!

August
August brought six weddings, including a trip to Bath for one that’ll go down as one of my all-time faves. It was the kind of month that reminds me why I love what I do.

September
Only three weddings this month, which gave me a bit of breathing room. It’s always nice to have some quieter weeks to regroup.

OCTOBER

October was a whirlwind with six weddings and a magical family trip to Disney. It’s safe to say my camera got a real workout this month, both on and off the clock!

NOVEMBER

I thought November would wrap up the year with a lovely wedding at North Mymms Park. It was so nice to shoot for one of my favorite families again. Oh, and a little personal win—I got Highly Commended at The Wedding Industry Awards! Putting myself out there was nerve-wracking, so to get that recognition was huge. Maybe I’ll go for the big win next year—who knows?

DECEMBER

A surprise last-minute wedding made Baddow Park House my final one for 2024. And honestly, what a way to end the year. That place at Christmas is pure magic.

THANK YOU

On a personal note, we’ve had a pretty good year. The kids are growing up way too fast, and our Disney trip was a dream come true. We’ve had our challenges (the ongoing car accident saga—ugh), but we’re finishing the year happy and healthy, which is all you can ask for really.

This year also came with some tough reminders about how short life can be & that what I do isn’t ‘just photos’ Those photos become valuable further down the line & gain the sort of value you just can’t buy. Its the reason why we do this, why its so important and why I take such an honour & privelege so very seriously.

To everyone who’s booked me, referred me, or left a kind review—thank you. The wedding world has been a bit up and down lately, so to come out of 2024 fully booked and heading into another busy year feels like such a privilege. You’re all amazing, and I couldn’t do this without you.

Here’s to more laughter, chaos, and amazing memories in 2025. Let’s make it a good one!
