There’s something so special about a marquee wedding at home, and Bonnie & Alex’s day was the perfect example. I remember Bonnie telling me how she and her dad once looked out at their garden and said it would be the most perfect place for a wedding — and on this day, that dream came to life.

The whole celebration was filled with personal touches. Their celebrant was a childhood friend (whose parents had met Bonnie’s through NCT classes!), the flowers were lovingly arranged by a friend who travelled all the way from Cornwall, and every detail felt like a family and friends affair. Guests even joined in the pretty pink and sage colour scheme, which tied everything together beautifully.

After heartfelt and relaxed speeches, we headed into the fields opposite the house for golden hour portraits — some of my favourite of the year. The evening then kicked off with confetti cannons on the dance floor, which set the tone for a night of laughter, garden games, and everyone taking turns on the family swing. Later, a saxophonist took things up another notch, and the dance floor stayed packed well into the night.

Marquee weddings in the UK don’t get more personal than this. Getting married where you grew up has its own kind of magic, and Bonnie & Alex’s day was the perfect mix of elegant and fun.
